This programme is specifically designed for beginners who want to build strong foundations in dog grooming.

 

Ideal for those starting a career in the industry, this course equips you with the essential skills needed to:

• Groom your own dog(s)

• Work as a dog grooming assistant

• Carry out basic grooming and tidy-up services in kennels or dog wash facilities

You will cover all the core elements of dog grooming, including:

• Bathing and drying techniques

• Safe dematting

• Ear cleaning and nail care

• Introduction to basic clipping

• Foundational scissoring skills

Course Structure

• 6 practical attendance lessons

• 1 dedicated Pet First Aid lesson

 

The programme also includes the separate OCNNI Level 3 Award in Pet First Aid for Pet Care Professionals qualification, giving you an additional recognised certification.

Class Times & Attendance Options

Each lesson lasts approximately 4 hours.

 

During each session, you will groom one dog from start to finish, completing all associated training elements within that lesson.

 

There is also an option to groom two dogs in one day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).

Saturdays & Sundays

Flexible Learning

Courses run all year round, allowing you to start at a time that suits you.

 

Attendance is flexible — choose 1–5 days per week, with some weekend options available.
